Movement Murmuration is a site-responsive experience with 4 stations of improvisation led by dancers from the SixFootWingspan project. Participants will be placed in small groups for socially distant, guided movement exploration in relationship to the outdoor landscape, one another, and the birds.
After reserving your ticket you’ll receive a confirmation email. The morning of the workshop confirmed ticket holders will receive an email with the exact parking location for the in-person Oakland event.
In order to follow COVID safety protocols, the in-person tickets are limited. Reserve here today!
The workshop is open to all ages, bodies, and movers. Location has public restrooms and is wheelchair accessible. Contact us for details and any additional accessibility needs.
Participants will need to wear a mask and comfortable shoes, bring something to write with, and be prepared for an hour in the sun.
Please monitor AQI levels for Oakland. If at noon on 10/11 the levels are under 100, the in-person event will proceed. If AQI at noon is 100 or higher, the workshop will be offered online only.
The event will also be live-streamed on @sarahbushdance and @audubonca Instagram and Facebook pages so folks can participate at home.
We look forward to moving with you and the birds!
With love, commitment and gratitude,
Sarah and all the SBDP artists and collaborators
* SBDP artists and admin are paid $15-20/hour for their work. Offering this workshop takes 25 hours. Please consider donating to www.sarahbushdance.org/donate to contribute toward their fees and support this project.
The workshop and the majority of the work we do happens on unceded Ohlone, Chochenyo land. Please consider giving a Shuumi Land Tax contribution as a way to acknowledge the violent and oppressive colonization of this land and support Indigenous communities in the Bay Area.
