Sarah Bush Dance Project is proud to announce that our Artistic Director, Sarah Bush, has been awarded the Della Davidson Prize for 2019, which is given to innovators at the intersection of dance and theater.

“While experiencing ‘Spirit and Bones’, I was personally moved by your commitment to bringing voice to the power and experiences of women of all ages, ethnicities, and walks of life. The vitality and heart you revealed in this piece are ideas Della championed during her all too brief life and career. Themes she continually revisited with passion were, sharing ones’ truth and promoting the strength of womanhood in multifaceted and engaging ways. She saw the stories she told, through her choreographic works, as ways to invite conversation and change. In Della’s honor, we strive to shine a light on artists dedicated to similar missions.”
