Happy Pride dear ones!
I finally got a chance to visit the impressive Queer California: Untold Stories exhibit at the Oakland Museum (OMCA). Bay Area folks, make sure you check it out before August 11th!
This artistic chapter of my life seems to be about working on multiple projects on different timelines. In SBDP news, we’ve decided to extend the development period for our Oakland LGBTQ histories project. A premiere in 2020 will allow us to give it all the time and resources a project of this scope and intimacy deserves. Thank you to everyone who has contributed their stories to Elena’s audio archive. I look forward to hearing more of them! I’ll be continuing to schedule meetings and conversations, listening to oral history recordings and researching in various archives in order to select and flesh-out a collection for next year’s show.
THIS FALL we’ll have a public performance of rarely seen SBDP works, redesigned for the Flight Deck stage. Each piece is a different look at human and environmental impact. Mark your calendars for Oct 25-27! Thank you for following my artistic adventures! I’m so grateful for your interest and support!
Cheers to honoring the love, freedom, liberation and revolution of the LGBTQ past, present and future! Let’s dance it OUT!!
