Sarah Bush Dance Project presented
Rocked By Women
May 9-11, 2014
Dance Mission Theater

Music soothes us, shakes us, astounds us and breaks our hearts. In this evening length work, the fierce Sarah Bush Dance Project rocks through the life of a woman rocked by women. From baby steps to coming out, and first crush to lost love, music by women from the past four decades binds the story of many to one and one to many – transforming everyday memories to the history we all share.
With its eclectic score of unforgettable voices, this kinetic, hybrid work pays tribute to the women who rock us.

Rocked By Women…what could be better than that! Spend an evening with these Dancers, these women, embodying a body of work, a body of songs that served as a group lift for so many people. Thanks to all of you for paying attention and paying tribute to this music, for revealing it all through the bold power of Dance.

We will probably be completely forgotten if there’s not young women like Sarah who are determined to remember.

Those of us who were an integral part of Women’s Music owe Sarah Bush a deep thank you for her dance project, Rocked By Women. Classy, conscious, heartfelt, and hot. I’m sure it is the only tribute of its kind in the world. Thank you, Sarah.

You must go to this:
1. because it is beautiful and vital and dope
2. because the woman who choreographed it is genius
3. because we need to support the arts
4. because dance is life.
Vicki Randle, Musician
There are two kinds of people in the world my friend – those who have been rocked by women & those who have not. If you have not been rocked by women, see Sarah Bush. If you have been rocked, see Sarah Bush again. Part of your road map for May…
